Drug bust at home near Winter Park yields 430 pounds of marijuana

Seminole County deputies recovering a stolen car at a home near Winter Park made an unexpected discovery: 50 pounds of marijuana in the trunk and another 380 pounds in the house.

It started about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, when OnStar called deputies to say the stolen car was at a home in the 6000 block of Jackman Boulevard, which is in a neighborhood near Howell Branch Road and Eastbrook Boulevard, according to an arrest affidavit.

Deputies found a man in the driver’s seat and two other men standing outside. Another man inside the home tried to run away but was quickly arrested, the affidavit said.

Deputies said they found 50 pounds of weed in the trunk during a search of the vehicle. A multi-agency drug unit was called in to serve a warrant and found the rest of the marijuana in the house, along with $43,000 in cash and a stolen handgun, the affidavit said.

In all, there was 430 pounds of marijuana found with a street value of $1.2 million, deputies said.

Four people were arrested: Kadin Baskin, 19, of Orlando; Craig Hillman, 24, of Winter Park; Michael Strozewski, 26, of Orlando; and Angelo Sueque, 20, of Altamonte Springs.
